Walk, Log, and Earn: d-healthcare Turns Wellness into d-Points

NTT Docomo’s d-healthcare app rewards your steps and health habits with regular d-points usable across Japan’s shopping and service ecosystem. By completing daily walking goals, logging health data, and tackling quiz-style missions, users can earn anywhere from 1 to 20 points per day. Easy to set up with Apple Health or Google Fit, the app offers both free and paid plans, making it a versatile tool for health-conscious users who want every step to count toward real rewards.

This is the second article in Points & Miles Japan’s series on shopping points-linked walking apps. After exploring Rakuten Healthcare, we now turn to d-healthcare, NTT Docomo’s wellness app that transforms your daily steps and health habits into d-points. With its blend of fitness tracking, health missions, and professional guidance, d-healthcare offers a structured way to stay active while earning rewards that can be spent across Japan’s extensive d-point network.

How Users Earn Points: The d-healthcare app provides multiple ways to accumulate points.

  • Daily Step Missions: Each day, the app sets a personalized walking goal. Meeting this goal earns at least 1 d-point, with higher rewards for exceeding targets.

  • Health Missions: Users can complete quiz-style missions tailored to their health concerns (e.g., diet, exercise, back pain). These missions are supervised by medical professionals and typically reward 1–3 points per completion.

  • Recording Health Data: Logging weight, blood pressure, or other metrics can also yield points.

  • Streak Bonuses: Consecutive days of meeting goals unlock additional rewards, raising the maximum to 10–20 points per day for consistent users.

This system makes d-healthcare more versatile than Rakuten Healthcare, as it rewards not only walking but also broader health engagement.

Type of d-Points: The app awards regular d-points, not limited-time promotional ones. This is a major advantage, as regular d-points can be used across the entire Docomo ecosystem—covering mobile bills, shopping at convenience stores, online purchases, and even travel bookings. Limited-time points, by contrast, expire quickly and have restricted usage, so d-healthcare’s reward system is far more flexible.
